it makes absolutely no difference, what length jumpers you use, this is
nothing more than a perpetuation of cb radio misstatements and
falsehoods. if you don't believe me , ask dr handy andy,....cd is
out..........

Remember, the radio and amp MUST BE separated at least 3 feet, if not more,
to protect the radio from RF from the amp.
I have a uniden pro 810e which I feed into a Palomar 90A amp. pushing 100
watts. My Silver Eagle mic is just barely cracked open enough to move the
needle.My mic gain is set to 2/3, and I use a Yaesu FC-902 tuner
and this setup works fine.

Bull. If everything is set up right, the amp can be connected directly to
the rig. There should not be any RF on the outside of the amp or on the
coax.
Of course, I am talking about proper amps here - not a plastic cased
splatterbox.
