Has Anyone out there dealt with this guy?? He makes a hell of an Antenna, but
his customer service is not all that good. I met him at the Chicago Break, and
bought one of his Antennas. VERY satisfied. I ordered another, no Problem.. I
went to order another, STILL haven''t recieved it. Just wondering if there is
anyone else out there who has had problems with this guy.....

I think he is way backlogged.

I talked to him about 2 weeks ago.... Using my black al capone.

One of the better antennas you will find.

Toll....You and Brass saw me drooling over the "Black Al" antennas in
Memphis and probably heard MRS. Train shoot down that idea...."You're NOT
putting THAT on MY Benz"........Got to get with Brass about that Bopper
though....Not breathing hard enough into it to need the Capone stick!

How do these compare with the larger antennas from Troy/

I have the 76-2 Stargun "Bopper", with a 32" shaft, Dual-Coils, and the Star
Wing Kit.... Mounted on the Quick-disconnect mount, on the trunk. My friend has
the Al Ca'Pone with the Medium Length (12", I think), on the roof of his new
Ford pickup

I think the Stargun, and the Al Ca'Pone are about equal for Transmit. But the
Al Ca'Pone has a much better bandwidth, and better Ears....

Lee Just called me this morning, will be sending out the antenna when he gets
back into town.....Real nice guy, I guess he was short of Materials. Not a
Problem.

Took a look at the site, this antenna is another of those latest, greatest,
that defies all rules of electronics. I am in the process of modeling it in
NEC4 and will post the results in the next day or so.

I will compare it with a 1/4 wave full size whip.

In the mean time caveat emptor...

No doubt, A couple of guys in Cleveland,OH. use them with very good results
(ie Gunslanger(517), Jr. Bigman and Witchdoctor) I myself have never tried
one but I'm tickle pink with my Stargun Big Bopper.

Greetings!

Went to the site, that is a neat antenna.

I *HIGHLY* recommend that others go to the site and see it for
yourself.

The "dual frames" feature helps, click on the individual photos and
see the details enlarged. You notice some construction techniques that
will *help anyone out* in putting together a system.

Click on the links above and see the details - this antenna is a
machined unit. Look at the base mount, it uses an SO-239, SMART! A lot
better, if not beefier, mount to hold this beast.

There is a photo of a lady holding this antenna, note the length of
the whip, it extends beyond the length of the photo. This antenna,
when you put it together, is gonna be one mean [SOB].

The use of it as a mobile beam, the dimensions and distances will help
those in competition. Or just those interested in mobile beam or any
type of beam setup.

This site is well thought out, mostly photos, and I can see where they
don't want to give all their secrets away, but it certainly looks
durable.

When my ship comes in, I will be going back to the site and getting
one of these. I have the location on the Tracker already set up for
this antenna.

Yes, I saw this mobile beam on the website. I am confused. How does this
thing work? It seems to be a contradiction, (a vertical whip with horizontal
directors) ???
I am not disputing if this works, just never saw it before. Has anyone on
here tested this antenna out. Very interesting design. I wonder how well
they work hanging off the side of that Freightshaker condo (pictured).

So you are using this as a mobile antenna?

Do you understand that the rest of the mobile world is vertically
polarized and that the mismatch would probably make it darn near deaf
for local work?
