Starting Monday 1 March, WKOX (AM) 1200 Framingham MA will begin
simulcasting co-owned WCLB (FM) 105.7 Framingham-Boston's country
format daily 9AM-5:30AM. Until now, WKOX has had a talk format
(mostly satellite from Daynet and other small networks), and
before that it was satellite oldies.

While the morning show will stay local, it strikes me as rather
a waste of a 10/1 kw station that is the only major AM in the
profitable MetroWest market outside Boston, not to mention
putting a respectable daytime signal into the entire Boston
market. And this while Larry King and other top talkers go
unclaimed in the Boston metro... :-(

WKOX, for what it's worth, is where this news guy first went
on commercial air, so I'm a bit more sad than I might normally
