Abbreviations

Could someone please provide a brief list of what different radio format
abbreviations mean. For example:

AOR - adult oriented rock (?) (is this right)

CHR -

...etc.

Abbreviations for the "mainstream" formats are as follows;

AC = adult contemporary
CHR = contemporary hit radio
MOR = middle of the road (not many stations programs this anymore)
AOR = album-oriented rock
UC = urban contemporary

There are a number of other formats that are usually not abbreviated.
For example, country is usually called "country." Same with religious
(gospel, etc.), easy listening, beautiful music, oldies, talk, news,
news/talk, Spanish-language, classical/fine arts, ethnic.

There are also a number of combinations and variations--fine tuning,
particularly in major markets for competitive reasons: e.g., mix,
churban.
