To answer a previously posted question, Jack O'Dell who
wrote, produced & hosted Unshackled for over 30 years died
about 2 or so years ago. It was my privilege to interview him
about 7 years ago after an Unshackled taping at Pacific Garden
Mission in Chicago. His was quite a story, from alcoholic "soap
opera" star to producer of radio's longest running drama. All of
the stories on the program are true, and produced each Saturday
afternoon in front of a live audience at the Pacific Garden
Mission in Chicago. It is like stepping back into the good old
days of radio to attend a taping.
By the way, we at HCJB will be increasing our broadcasts of
Unshackled to twice a week in good listening times via shortwave
starting in September. For our new program schedule, effective

That had to be an interesting article...Do you still have it, maybe in
electric format?
How did he die? I'm not religeous, but I even listened to the program up
until each person bei>g profiled got saved...Yeah i'm sick that way I
guess. =)
