Also, I neglected to mention that Jim Harper is also still a PD (as he
was at DRQ) at our sister station WNIC.

Kevin O'Neill, who does PM Drive for us at Q95, did mornings at DRQ
when he first came to Detroit in '79.

Steve Summers/Steve LaBeau, who worked many years out in L.A. at KFI,
is in Cleveland, I think...

Last I heard about Jim Hawk was that he was doing news in D.C...it's
been some time...

Joe Krause, who did music research at WDRQ in the mid-70s is PD now
at KOOL 107 in Ann Arbor and still running his video-taping business...

There's a few more...

Is this the same Bob Pittman that was PD at WMAQ and WNBC? Later the
creator of MTV? Now a well-dressed exec with Viacom (or is it Time-Warner)?

Hey WDRQ Still owes me a Sergeant Peppers Lonly Heart Club Album! Back
in the disco days of 77-78 WDRQ conducyed many contest. I called and
called and finally got through. A year later in revolt for not getting
my album from Q93 and joined WRIF's D.R.E.A.D. (Detroit Rockers
Engaged in the Abolishment of Disco). The campaign worked and WDRQ
changed format. ;)
Detroit had the best radio stations in any market at the time, believe
I have traveled far and wide. I sure do miss the on-air personalities
of the time.

BABY!

I worked at DRQ under Al Casey who is now at Young Country -- I did the
morning show, then was transfered to Bartell's St. Louis start up. It was
in the early 70's...I'm PD at WIXC in Bay City now.

Here's a bit of an update: Me, George Moore. I am back in Detroit [ since
'02] after working and playing in Los Angeles for about 25 yrs. I now do my
own internet jazz show, and some local public television for West Bloomfie
ld, where another 'Q' alumnus, Dave Scott, runs the operation, Civic Center
TV. Jim Hawk was recently in D-C, and worked many years for the Metro Netw
orks bureau there. I also worked for Metro, here in Detroit, and in Los Ang
eles. Joey Ryan passed away back in 2011. 'Dirty Steve Rivers' Steve Humphr
ies runs his own media company in Dallas. Brian White is doing radio on the
east coast, North Carolina, I think. And, yes THAT BOB PITTMAN, who now ru
ns a large and unpopular company, with the initials CC, after leading MTV.
I was one of Bob's interns when he did nights at 'DRQ! hope this helps.
