TITLE 47--TELECOMMUNICATION
CHAPTER I--FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION
PART 2--FREQUENCY ALLOCATIONS AND RADIO TREATY MATTERS; GENERAL RULES
AND
REGULATIONS--Table of Contents
Subpart I--Marketing of Radio-frequency Devices
Sec. 2.815 External radio frequency power amplifiers.
(a) As used in this part, an external radio frequency power
amplifier is any device which, (1) when used in conjunction with a radio
transmitter as a signal source is capable of amplification of that
signal, and (2) is not an integral part of a radio transmitter as
manufactured.
(b) After April 27, 1978, no person shall manufacture, sell or
lease, offer for sale or lease (including advertising for sale or
lease), or import, ship, or distribute for the purpose of selling or
leasing or offering for sale or lease, any external radio frequency
power amplifier or amplifier kit capable of operation on any frequency
or frequencies between 24 and 35 MHz.
Bob, if they'll amplify a CW signal, they can't be all that bad.

There we have it, folks! Kim Walker, W5TIT, wanton killer of unborn
babies, also wants to limit the levels of excellence achieved by
amateur radio operators! But doesn't she have SUCH a clever call
sign? My, I'm impressed!

Now, wait. You just demanded in another email that I CHANGE it! Will you make
up your mind? You're so excitable this morning...

as long as the seller makes sure they sell to a licensed person there is
no problem. It is those who sell to anyone, and especially those who
actually ADVERTISE it for illegal use (such as "100w CB Amplifier for
sale!" or something like that).
If you are going to nail the venue, then anyone running a ham swap, etc,
is equally guilty. It is the seller and buyer who are committing the
crime if those who should not have linears buy them.
Not Ebay.

Before you buy.
Clever? Is she like EEE or something?
Why should anyone demand anyone change a call?
I hear the Church of Satan is seeking the specialty call W666COS... 8-}
Aha. Well, I suggested to Larry this morning that there are several prefixes
available with the suffix "GOD." Since he reveres himself thusly...I think
it'd be a great call for him! :P

Larrah, you don't achieve excellence through testing. You achieve excellence
through operating. I'm not impressed with your paper excellence.
I'm holding out for the butt cheeks on the cold straight key ; )

Straight key? Let him use the Vibroplex - at least he would have half a chance.
And wear a disposable plastic poncho - it could get messy.

Cups?
Who cares? And besides... Ebay is well aware that they have no legal
liability for the listing of equipment. Legally linears for CB are an
administrative offence, not a crime. All the FCC will do is to send out
their squad of marching nazi's to harrass you and make your life hell
for being enough of a pain in the butt with your amplifier because the
complaints would be to great to ignore or your a**hole neighbor has a
political connection or two.
Guess what... I have about 10 solid state units. They all work very
well. There is this one, that I have that does 385 on AM and a whole lot
more on sideband. It goes well with the HR2510 on field day.
I've found that my icom 706 is great because I don't need an amp, and
has 2M built in. It gets rid of 3 radios and the amp in the pickup. It's
a real sweet solution to clutter.
73's!

I did? I was wrong about my own chest size. Hmmmm, I bet your

You know the difference between "surplus" and "excess"? =8o & :)

Perhaps on your stomping grounds the two criterion are mutually
exclusive.
I'm still wondering where I said? Because, IF I said...I was wrong about my
own chest size : )

Perhaps we need independant verification. Anyone else on the group live in
Texas?
The best looking YLs in the universe are in Texas. That's why I moved
back here. How many Miss America's from the past 15 years were from
Texas? Think the 1:50 odds hold? Nuff said.
So far I've not felt compelled to stomp in that area.
