Hi,

hope someone in the USA knows the answers to this
question and is kind enough to help:

I own two European PMR mobile radios (Motorola T6222)
which transmit on these channels with 0,5W power
/ and max 3 miles range:

Channel 1 - 446.00625 Mhz
Channel 2 - 446.01875 Mhz
Channel 3 - 446.03125 Mhz
Channel 4 - 446.04375 Mhz
Channel 5 - 446.05625 Mhz
Channel 6 - 446.06875 Mhz
Channel 7 - 446.08125 Mhz
Channel 8 - 446.09375 Mhz

Are any of these frequencies open for private use in the USA
or - if not, is any of those channels likely not to cause any
interference?

Regards
Martinborus

In ITU Region 2 (including the USA), the 70cm amateur radio band is 420-450MHz.
These frequencies are not available for the PMR service. However, if you hold
a valid amateur radio license (where either the alien permit is obtained or not
required by treaty), you could legally use these frequencies.

As for interference, it depends on where in the USA one is. Some areas have
the frequencies around 446MHz as simplex while others have it for repeater
outputs. The potential is there.
