Was posted twice with subject: Do ICE Radio Products still trade?
Sorry about inconvenience and repeat posting, I realised that including
'trade' AND 'product' in that title was insane! :) It's screaming to be
killed by spam filters, is it not? original message follows:

[Original message]
Hello, I'm after an antenna matching transformer from
http://www.iceradioproducts.com and being in the UK, I need to ask them for
shipping costs, and whether they take PayPal, as these are crucial matters
for arranging international transactions with different currencies. They
provide an email address, 'sales at TheirDomain.com' (Did that because I
don't want web-archive spiders and Google-gropers to find that and spam it to
hell). I've sent three polite, short requests to that email over the last 8
days or so and can't raise a response! Odd given that they supposedly want
business. Can anyone reach them personally for me? Or perhaps point me to a
UK supplier of what I'm after?

What I want is their 'Beverage' matching transformer 180A, or perhaps 183A
for greater range at the longer wavelength end, (down to 100 KHz or so). I'm
also trying to find John Doty's plans for winding my own, but the only mail
addresses I've found for him so far have gone the way of the Norwegian Blue.
John Doty says that the 180A is so good it makes good sense to buy it anyway,
but right now I'm not at all sure I ever will without help.

If you responded to the two earlier copies, please could you copy the
response to reply to this one, as my own spam filters blocked my original
posts. Got to seriously revise my Xnews score file, evidently..

Please can someone tell me which group to post this in? This looked like the
right one but I've not seen much beyond bulletins that no-one replies to, and
a single discussion about a sloped antenna. If I can't get an answer by
following protocol, I might start thinking of ingenious ways to break it.

Try the rec.radio.amateur.antennas newsgroup. Continued posting in this
group is annoying for those wishing to read the bulletins. You should
find many folks in the antennas group familiar with the impedance
matching of Beverage antennas. I hope this helps.

Thanks, I'll try that. I posted here because it was an inquiry as to whether
a firm was trading, not technical, made it hard to categorise, hence misc...

"rec.radio.amateur.antennas" apparently doesn't exist. That's according to
Giganews as accessed via BT in the UK too. They access more groups than
pretty much anyone, so somethings wrong there..

Try "rec.radio.amateur.antenna"/ The added "s" was accidental.

Ok, thanks, that exists. Wasn't named in the monthly Posting Guidelines post
I just read though, which is why I didn't know of it. Also, according to that
post, this group is for "Amateur (ham) radio and related matters" so my post
should be fine here (misc means a lot more than bulletins). It has more to do
with the firm selling radio stuff than the stuff itself, and their apparent
want not to do business even with people who send on-topic and polite emails
at infrequent intervals. That's strange, so I want help with that from
someone who HAS done business with them, or knows something about why they
refuse to answer a normal sales inquiry. I'll wait for answers here rather
than post in another group, at least for now.
