Well, I remember working a contest group with the call

G0PUB (Go Pub)

Usually the less sensible calls are filtered by the authority in the UK.
So we dont get many funny ones.
Made up ones like

Call area Italy Quebec Zero (IQ0..)
Drunks like Wisky one sierra kilo lima (W1SKY)
Part of Germany has Delta Zero Tango Tango Yankee (D0TTY)
Remember the Golf Zero oscar november sugars ? (G0ONS)
Alpha five suger lime echo echo / protable yet ? (A5LEE/P)

How about:
N1KE = Nike sneaker company
W0RLD
W1SE
A1DS
TR0UT
N3RD = nerd?

We probably could spend all day (and lots of bandwidth) doing this list
:-)

I recently contacted OH TOO BAD (OH2BAD) on HF. Also, in my area are W0RRY and

Dunno if anyone mentioned it yet, but my favorite has always been:

K9DOG

Of course, I've also enjoyed how some people can get creative with
phonetics, for example, during Field Day:

"Whiskey Three Fuzzy Wuzzy"

At the time, we were running:

"Kilowatt Number Two Zanzibar Ontario"

(I think 3-syllable phonetics "carry" better).

Cheers,
Andy

While operating from W1AW years ago, I once worked "UF0OL".
He disappeared real fast when I commented on the callsign.

My own callsign has been the source of confusion when I say it too fast.
It's KD6EUI, but it seems that more than a few people have mistakenly heard
"DUI" for the suffix. So, unless I'm talking with someone I know, I often say
it "KD6 Echo Uniform India," or I say the suffix slowly.

I guess it's just more incentive to finish up on the code and upgrade to
Advanced...

I once heard a US station calling "CQ Africa". A station signing "5U4GB"
came back to him. The US ham answered exitedly ("Wow! A new one!"), but
the "DX" station never came back again. The US ham was still desperately
calling 5U4GB when I happened to tune back across the frequency
5 minutes later.

Al, this tale dates you (within a few decades, at least).

Let's make sure that we point out to the solid-state crew that a
5U4GB is a vacuum-state rectifier from the 50s-60s era. (It glows in
the dark!)

This one is in the same class as RG8U.
