I used to listen to.435 YEARS before I got my ticket; And most days, the
QSOS held on GOOD days would make a hard core CB'er blush. However,
despite the garbage, there Is a strange attraction to it. Perhaps its
because, like it or not, we all root for the underdog...

Oh, no...you did NOT shoot that green @#$%! at me!

Strange Attraction?

That repeater has more CONVICTED FELONS on it than all other repeaters
and CB combined. I see nothing strange in a gathering of like minded
people in any other arena. The "Animal Farm" is no exception to that
either. The F.C.C. has seen it fit not to do anything about C.B. for a
long time now, and it appears to be that Ham Radio is heading into the
same direction as well. The only difference is that the radios playing
that trash cost more!

I guess I really missed that when I moved away from LA in 83. Maybe some
kind, cheritible person would make me a tape? So I can play the tape?

Is it the same cast of characters? PXA? JAC? AAM? BIZ?

Hello Dave:

Last time I was in LA I listened in on the 147.435 machine. I didn't hear
any of those guys on there - mostly CB-type garbage.

The good "shows" are no more. They pretty well stopped around 1984. The
FCC was "asked" to clean it up for the summer Olympics and it was never
the same after that.

I heard that Richard Burtun (ex-WB6JAC) attended a VE session, wrote and
passed the tests and was issued a new call, but the FCC took it away when
they found out who he was.

First of all you are talking about people from 01/61 NOT 435. Need
to get that right.

Here's an update on the hams you listed.
K6PXA Arnie Gamson moved to Lake Elsinore,CA 3 years ago after the
Northridge quake thrashed his house.

WB6JAC, Richard Burton lost his JAC call in 1982 and gained KF6GKS
last September and lost that too. Still bootlegging to this day.

WB6AAM,Jay Coote, used to own 61. Sold it off in the late 80's.

N6BIZ, Gary Mankoff, Still around sometimes.

hope this helps,
73 richard.

thru the Internet.

Richard,

Where do you think they went after they were kicked off of 01/61?
Don't forget about Mitnick, Ace, Jeffrey, Feldman, etc... I could
go on but I want to keep it short, Hi Hi!
