So then I'm using a bug zapper xformer, at about 5,000 VDC. At
10,000VDC it will blow out the flame of my BIC lighter. At these
potentials how should one measure the temp?
Except for that High Voltage sizzle it's pretty darn quite.

your right of coarse I seen 'em at harbor freight tools also. I just
rememebered the one I was trying to think of is ultra sonic sound used
to measure tempurature. Something I would take a piezo transducer or
tweeter and detect the temperature that way.
