According to a reference database it is a NPN type transistor in a TO 3
enclosure ( like the well known 2N3055) . Its application is stated as :
line deflection.
Question : What is the (max) rated current for the device.
The intended new application is that of an electronic shunt for a 12 V
lead-acid battery system charged by solar panels and a wind driven
generator.
TIA for any advice

The DTS-401 is a higher voltage, lower current device compared to the
2N3055.
DTS-401 specs:
max Ic: 2.0 amps
Vceo(sus) @Ic: 300v @ 100ma
hFE @Ic: 20-100@500ma
That's the basics. If you need more, contact me.
