Icom 70cm IC-U16 programing

I have a pair of Icon IC-U16 70cm handhelds.Both are programmed with the
same frequecies (I know about Func/159357 etc) On one the numbers of the
programmed frequencies appear when I press scan and it does a normal scan
the other is the problem as it will not scan, if I hold down the up or down
arrows it will scan as long as I hold the key down but will not scan by its
self. It is not in priority scan mode. Please can anyone tell me how to get
the scan to opperate.

You have to enter each channel into the scan list then it will scan.
Look for SCH on the number pad label. Choose the channel you want to
scan, you will need more than one, and while pressing Function, press
SCH to add that channel to the scan list.
As you press the Function / SCH you will see little channel numbers
appear across the top of the radio. This is the indication the channel
is included in the scan list. Just press Function/SCH until the
channel you have on the display appear in that list across the top of
the display.
