Wanted a frequency mod for the yaesu ft-726r all mode tribander.
Anyone else have this radio and can give me any opinions on using
it. I was told of a frequency mod for the 430 MHz band module
to operate on 440 MHz. Looked at the WWW mod sites and could not find
it. Anyone else hear of this mod? Also looking for the 50 MHz and
440 MHz band modules. Will the band modules from a FT-736R work
in the FT-726R?

If you know of the mod to use the FT-726R on 440 MHz using
the 430 MHz band module please post what site it's at or E-mail
me the details.

How would anyone compare the Ft-726R against the FT-736R besides
it having CAT and 1200 MHz band option?

Here in Chicago i find the 726 with its narower front end modules to be a
better bet than the 736. The 736 gets blown away with intermod and overload
while the older 726 works quite well.
If you are looking for a "wide band reciever" you will be better off with a
scanner the 726 does not go out of band well at all. the 430 to 440 conversion
should not be real difficult but be prepared to change a bunch of parts in
the reciever . I am told the "sat." board is no longer available. Good luck

I bought a new FT-736R back in Oct/Nov. of '95. I have never used a
FT-726R but I have been extremely pleased with the 736. I have been
told that the band modules are different between the two radios, but I
am not 100% sure.
