I have a Kenwood TS 850 sat... and I want to get a desktop microphone
for it. I am more interested in a full-range, robust sounding signal
rather than a nasally, high frequency boosted DX ssb type.

Right now, it is a toss up between the MC-60 kenwood microphone, or the
heil microphones (goldline, OR the heil-5). I would like any suggestions
or impressions about which of these three microphones would be best.

Go with the Heil with the dual elements. I have one on my 850SAT and the
response from stations the audio sounds like I'm in their shack. You will
not regret it.

I purchased the separate Heil elements, built them into my old D-104 case
with mercury switched. I did not want to drill into the mike so when I turn
the mike upside down, the DX element is in the circuit, in the normal mode
the other one is in. I also have the TS-850
