I would like to know which rig would be better to buy, the MFJ 9020 Cw txcvr
or the MFJ 9420 SSB w/CW module.

Thanks

I use the MFJ 9420 with cw board and it's a real nice
portable rig. Right now I use it in the car and it still surprises me.
For me a 9420 is a better choice especially when you get both worlds ( cw
and ssb).

I am currently building the Fireball 40, but I don't think that it will meet
my needs. I was looking at the MFJ 9020 CW package that MFJ offers, it
includes the transceiver, tuner, antenna, powerpack. I can also purchase a
filter and iambiac keyer board for another $70-80. Therefore, about a $430
investment. I am concerned that I may not like the MFJ or that it will not
perform well. So you think that I should get the SSB version and get the CW
module? How is your CW QSO's? Is the module for straight key or paddles?
