1. Audio becomes distorted on xmit and rec
2. digital readout becomes periods . . . . . .
3. Radio produces U L in cw
4. Radio completely shuts down and then can turn
itself back on again intermittently
Anyone that has had the same problem please post
or E-Mail
Thankyou

One of the PLL units is unlocking. Probably the Het osc. usually a bad
trimmer cap...

My TS850 display sometimes takes a 5 or so seconds to light up when you
turn it on and also some of the characters darken from the bottom of the
character up somewhat after it's been on a few hours. It's still very
readable...just annoyning.
Is there any fix for this? Replacement of the display unit only? Is it
expensive?
Thanks, Chuck, KE9UW

I am having the same problem. When I turn on xcvr, the display will have
dots for a number of seconds. Then I wull get cw UL a few times.
Eventually, I will get some static noise and following that it will work
ok. I did a "reset" and it seemed to work slightly better for a little
while, but still not fixed. Can anyone provide more more detail on how
to fix the problem?
