VK4OE/2 for this Weekend's FD
Greetings to all! Just a short note to say that, weather permitting
I intend to be operating on the Saturday evening and the Sunday
morning from Mt Kaputar near Narrabri, in central northern NSW.
The locator there is QF59BQ. Bands available are 50, 144, 432, 1296,
2403, 3400 and 10368 MHz. (If there are no takers for 2301 MHz,
I'll leave that transverter behind!) The main reason for travelling
so far for such a short length of time is to attempt to work stations
in the VK1 area on mutually available microwave bands. Obviously,
I will optimise my location for that exercise but, if I find a good
spot that has an acceptable level of out-of-band commercially
generated RF energy and which can look to the North as well, then
I'll be trying for QSO's back into VK4. Here's hoping for at least
a little tropo enhancement across the plains in central inland NSW

VK4FD will be operational at Milla Milla Lookout, Atherton Tablelands
Nth QLD. Jeff - VK4BOF & Gary - VK4WT will be operating from the
Milla-Milla Lookout for 24 hours for the field day contest as VK4FD.

approximately Lat: -17.51908 S (-17 31' 9'' S) Lon: 145.57468 E
(145 34' 29'' E). Look for us on 6M, 2M and 70cm. (I'd love to have
23cm, but that will have to wait until May or June of next year)

VK3HY/p Field Day Plans
VK3HY/P will be operating solo from Mt Terrible 1317m ASL QF32bo
for at least the first 8 hours and may stay overnight if WX condx
are OK. Will have 50MHz 144MHz 432MHz 1296MHz. SSB FM & CW on all
bands. Will operate FSK441 &/or JT65A on 144MHz if I am still there
on Sunday morning. SOURCE: Gavin VK3HY via VK-VHF Reflector

*** VK / QF 21 ***

VK3UHF FD plans
The VK3UHF group will operate as usual from QF21CU, 15km west of
Geelong for the duration of the FD. Operators will be David VK3QM,
Charlie VK3NX and me. We will have all bands from 50MHz to 24GHz
inclusive. Ken VK3AKK will be taking his microwave gear portable
for some nearby grid-hopping on Sunday morning. He has equipment
for 2.4 and 10 GHz, and might take some of our spare 3.4 and 5.7
GHz equipment too if he can fit all that gear in his car. For co-
ordination of our microwave activities we will generally be using
either 144.300 or 432.300, as appropriate to our operations, in
order to avoid QRM to, and from, other FD stations on those bands.
Microwave-capable stations are invited to join us if they want to
work us, or other stations in contact with us on these bands.
Given the potentially high level of activity on microwave bands
this year, we will be concentrating most of our attention on them.
