Best oustside antenna for Icom -ICR1

Hello,
I would be most grateful if someone could advise me on the best
outside aerial to use with an ICOM IC-R1. I am told that some aerials
can cause saturation and in fact cancel all signals all together.

I would have liked to hear from people who have hands on experience
with the performance of the IC-R1 with an outside aerial.

Also, can you advise whether I could build up my own aerial.
