I have 4 new metal slinys and I'm gonna make a 75m dipole. Any suggestions
on how to solder to it? I suppose sanding it good, using a hot iron and
some flux might help.

BTW one slinky extends to 8 feet and is eual to 1/4 wave on 20m. Use two
for a 16 foot 1/4 wave 40m dipole and 4 for a 32 foot 1/4 wave dipole on
80m. Of course attic mounting is required cause of the rust factor.

You've got a math problem here, I believe. All the info I've gathered says
that one slinky is 67 ft. If you extend it 8 ft, you have 67 ft of slinky
wound helically over 8 ft. Two (2) slinkys would make a half wave 80 meter
dipole at 134 ft and the longer you stretch it out, the better.

Your right, wherever I said 1/4 wave I meant to say 1/2 wave. Sorry. And
the ones I have must be half size because they are 33 feet each.
