Has anyone who is using the MFJ 259 analyzer getting a resonant
reading of
20 ohms when minimum SWR is reached. Even when using a 50 ohm resisor
at the ouput of the meter it will still read minumum SWR reading and
resistance of 20 ohms.

Seems you need to recalibrate the MFJ-259.

How is the MFJ259 recalibrated ?

If it gives the wrong answer the only way to re-calibrate it is to buy a new
one.

Reg,
Your absolutely correct! I just happen to be in the 'bidnez'
of refurbushing old 259's that are out of calibration. For a
fee of $300.00 (US) and your out of calibration 259, I will send
you a new one. What a deal!

Someone said there are a couple of calibration/adjustments inside

Not true. All the 259/269 models have several analog adjustments, ahead
of the digital firmware in the 259B/269 (which obviously you cannot
adjust). There are details somewhere on the Web and on Deja, definitely
for the basic 259 and maybe for the computing models too.

But before you try, you'd better have more knowledge and better test
equipment than they have at the factory.

If anybody has a lead on calibration procedures for the MFJ-259B, I'd like to
have it. I've got two at work and one at home--all of which could use a little
help.
