Hello,
I just received the new sale flyer from Radio Shack and noticed an
antenna analyzer on sale for $199.95 that looks exactly like the
MFJ-259b. It has the Vectronics brand name and is Radio Shack item
#9400683.
I wondered if anyone has used the Vectronics unit and could verify if
it has the same features as the 259b? I had no luck finding a manual
to download for this unit on radioshack.com.
I have been waiting to get an analyzer, but at this price I just may
have an early Christmas present.
All replys appreciated.

Well, recently MFJ bought out Vectronics, so it would be no surprise
if the units are the same or similar. Go to the Vectronics site,
www.vectronics.com and the MFJ site, www.mfjenterprises.com and you
can compare the units directly.

You may assume it is the same. Vectronics is one of the brand names being used
by MFJ Enterprises.

Thanks Guys!
This is just the info I needed. Looks like I will be getting a neat
new toy. Experimenting should help my understanding of antennas a
bit!

Be sure and check the specifications. MFJ makes a number of antenna
analyzers that look similiar to the MFJ-259B.

Do you also know that MFJ owns Hy-Gain Antennas which still sells
the Ham-IV and Tailtwister rotators!

The box looks the same, but the last time I compared them
it was obvious the software is not the same.
I don't remember what the difference was.

In general, the Vectronics counterparts of similar MFJ products are NOT
the same. The differences are much more than just changed brand names.

I just looked at the Vectronics web site. The one shown there -
Vectronics model SWR-584 is NOT the MFJ 259B. It looks
like the older one - the MFJ 259 without the B

I believe that MFJ now has a 269 out and the 259 can be found for right
around the $200 price. Check it out.

I believe Den is right. Last week at Hamfest Iowa WB0W was selling the
259B for $204. I just checked their web site, http://www.wb0w.com/ and
they have it listed there for $199.95.
