I need help! I just bought 93 Seville and now my garage door openers won't
work if this car is in the garage. I have a three car garage with two
separate openers. I have three cars, each with its own transmitter. Each
opener has a different code programmed into it (I have already tried changing
the codes). If the Seville is in the garage none of the transmitters work,
but the buttons on the wall will operate each door properly. If I move the
Seville out of the garage and park in the driveway all three transmitters
will work. When the Seville is in the garage the transmitters will not work -
either inside the cars or outside - unless I move the transmitter to within
about 3 inches from the receiver. All of the batteries are good.

Any suggestions as to what is causing this phenomenon? Is there
something in a Seville that would interfere with the RF transmission?

when you have the Seville in the garage, disconnect the battery and se if the
problem continues. if the problem goes away it might be the cars on board
computer interfering with the garage door opener. Another thing that may cause
the problem is a car alarm system the kind that goes off if you walk near the
car. good luck

While the car is in the garage, disconnect the battery and see if your
openers work. If so, then the computer system in the car is probably
radiating a strong signal on your openers receiver frequency that is
strong enough to overide the hand transmitters unless you are right at
the antenna. I've never heard of a computer that didn't go off when
the power to the vehicle went off.
