Last week I bought a jigsaw puzzle called "Great Wall of China,"
manufactured by the "Bepuzzled." It is part of their "Impossibles"
line. It consists of 750 pieces plus 5 extra ones: to make it more
challenging, the edge pieces look like interior pieces and the box
doesn't show the entire image depicted in the puzzle. The image is of
several plate designs (some paisley, some blue delft, some blate
plates with red and green grapes on it) one a white lace tablecloth.

I have compelte the puzzle, but my problem now is 'discovering the
"Real Great Wall" hidden among the plates.' According tot he bax of
the box, there is a image of the "real Great Wall of China" hidden
among the plates. Has anyone else done this puzzle and if they have,
do you know where this image is located? I've been staring at the
plates and I can't locate it at all...

Thanks!

NO LUCK as of yet, Has anyone cracked this one or is this some cruel

I am not sure if this is a hoax or not.
I have two of these puzzles. I found the special in one of them but not
in the other.

The first puzzle had a bunch of golf clubs, with the special being to find
5 golf balls. I was not able to, and I decided they were refering to
the 5 extra pieces.

I got the second one as a present, and noticed that it's special was not
to find 5 of something. This one was called "Heaven and Earth" with
the special of finding (Mother ?) Earth. The picture is of a bunch of
cherubs with streamers of fabric.
I actually did find a picture of Earth, very faintly in the background.
Whether this is the "Earth" in the title, or the "Earth" in the special
could be open to some debate.

In general, I consider these puzzles hard. They took me a lot longer than
I expected. The extra pieces are not a major factor. I think it is
the combination of no edge pieces and repeated pattern. This makes it
difficult to start joining any pieces together. Also, the cut
is not sufficiantly distinct to give hints. (unlike, say a Springbok)

Well, I'm glad to hear that I'm not alone in this problem of locating
the "hidden image" that is in the finished jigsaw puzzle. When I have
time (which will be in a week or two), I'm calling the 800 number on
the box. If I remember correctly, the Bepuzzled is located in
Connecticut, which means they are probably under several feet of snow.
I'll let people know what happens.

It was a wonderfully difficult puzzle. If I can find the Great Wall
Image, then I'll probably buy another one.

Rose

PS--what does one do with a completed jigsaw puzzle? While it's a
nice image, I don't want to put it up on my wall, nor do I think that
I'll want to re-do the puzzle again...

Could it be one of those 3-D puzzles where you have to stare at it?

I've done the Great Wall puzzle too and can't find the image. What a pain. Very difficult but satisfying when done. My suggestion for what to do with it is give it to a charity for resale. Maybe write a note about the difficulty. I borrowed mine from the local library. someone kindly took a photo of the competed image which made it easier) except part of the bottom edge was still missing from the photo and it was a little dark in places. Still a help and you could do the same if you pass it on to charity (or sell it at a garage sale).

You don't by chance have the picture of the completed puzzle, do you? Thanks.

When you put the five extra pieces together, how does their outline look?

Brenda,
The puzzle should have come with five extra pieces. If you put them together and turn them over and look at the outline you will see the Great Wall.

Maybe it's just not there -- Mexico refused to pay for that Wall too.

The puzzle is a picture of plates and cups (china) but the extra five pieces when connected as a 5x1 line have an outline that looks like a side view of a section of the Great Wall of Chine.
