Here's are puzzle then. What Simple transformation caused spatial to be
typed dpstisl?

That's simple enough; it happens to me all the time (usually with the
right hand though). Type the spatial as a touch typist would, keeping
your right hand on the correct home keys "jkl;", but move your left hand
toward the right on key. That is from the keys "asdf" to "sdfg". The
mapping looks like (among other pairs)
The only thing that bothers me about this solution is the the 't' in
"spatial" was not translated to 'y' like it should have been for a true
left hand shift. I guess it's just the home keys that were mistyped.
