Lyrics of my favorite cat song, Vigenere encrypted.
Decrypt.

Alternate puzzle: Find the longest word hidden in the
letter grid below. As in other word searches, words
can be read horizontally, vertically, & diagonally,
both forward or backward.

Have you done something sneaky like restart the keyword on each line?

Has anyone got any pointers on source code for the Chi-square algorithm?

I don't think I've done anything unusual. I used the same
encryption function I've used previously for vigs.

I use a math function rather than a keyword to encrypt my
vigs.

I think (but am not sure) that the keylength for my vig (at
least I think it's a vig) cipher is 26.

I rechecked & my vig function does decrypt the ciphertext
to the plaintext.

>Has anyone got any pointers on source code for the
Chi->square algorithm?

Is that your dadaist response to my dadaist suggestion that
my ciphertext can also be taken as a word search puzzle?
<grin>

Best,
Bob

PS. The reason I sometimes reverse words / word order /
whole plaintext when I post simple substitution cryptograms
is because certain folks here have complained that
cryptograms are too easy -- & can be solved mechanically at
oneacross.com & elsewhere.

I see no need to add gimmicks to vigs.

Or, to put it another way:

YVSPMJGDA
ZWTQNKHEB
XUROLIFC

It's often helpful to identify key regularities...

Thanks for the tip Jim.
But why would you write it like that - granted it makes it very easy to see
the pattern, but it is no longer in a form that can be plugged straight into
a decrypter to verify.
Would I have been better writing it something like the following?
Lx, Lx-3, ..., where initial value of Lx is "R"

Simply because it makes it easy to see the pattern, at which point
you do the "Lx-3" decimation you describe below and declare success.
If you already see the pattern, no need to line up the recovered alphabet.
