The archive contains all sorts of things including:
1. Crossword software,
2. Results of clueing competitions from rec.puzzles.crosswords
3. The most recent copy of the rec.puzzles.crosswords FAQ
4. Some crossword related source code
5. Other text files related, either to the newsgroup itself, or to
crosswords in general.
Note 1: The list of software is neither in alphabetic order or
canonical in nature.
Note 2: If you are testing one or more of the DOS applications from
the archive, at the same time, please be careful as some of the
executables have the same name.
Note 3: I've collected much software from the Internet proper so you
may already know about some of the software contained herein. Saying
that, I do know that a large proportion of the software found here
cannot be found elsewhere.

This is a file of words and their respective indicators which are
commonly used in setting and solving crosswords. This file was
formerly part of the FAQ proper. Thanks to Ross Beresford

These three files contain the results of most runnings of the ACC,
CWC, and PCWC clueing competitions. See, all our good work isn't
completely gone up in smoke :-). These files have been updated to
include all competitions untp September 1995.
pcwc_moderators_kit.tar
This is the PCWC moderators kit. It's in the form of a shell script
which you will need a UNIX shell to break open. If you don't have a
UNIX system at your disposal please ask for help in the newsgroup.
