Aha! another example of a
pseudo-homophone.
I believe that loo, and lieu, if pronounced
correctly, are not true homophones.
(lieu is pron. 'lyew')
Isn't nit-picking fun?

Lieu is pronounced as 'loo' where I come from, Barbara (we owe quite enough
to those Normans already).
What about 'duke' then? We say 'dyook' and you say 'dook' (so I've heard).
Yes, it is fun. Just not very helpful in international crosswords.
