While i've been ponding for quite some time, yesterday was the first
pond tour we've ever been to! Sheese, was it cool! Oh BTW, it was in
Eastern WA state. There were 10 ponds, but we just got to see five of
them. Four of these were top notch, with one extremely natural
looking, had a stream falling down an inlcine, then a deck that went
over it, at the overflow. Got some great ideas; plus, got a rock the
right color to cover my outflow. The guy was about to throw it away
since he had all granite and this was a red-black color. We thought
it was funny how once you're within three blocks of the house, you'd
see all the cars parked -- boom, you knew where to go.

So for anyone who's been thinking about going to a pond tour, by all
means do it!

Hi Gary,
My DH and I went on our first pond tour last Saturday, it was sponsered by
the Gardenhaus. I was fun! Got to talk about fish and plants and see
what others have done. Oh, I saw my first kingfisher also. We were
walking around a very large pond and spooked the bird. It flew off
chattering - it sure made a racket.
We now looking forward to our next tour!

Thanks Gary, we had a couple of folks from the Mid-Columbia Koi & Pond Club
go up. Hadn't heard how they liked it, but from your description it sounded
grand. ~ jan
