A quick question, if anyone has the answer...

Is there any recommended glue, adhesive, etc. for creating a strong,
waterproof joint between black PVC plastic (like what one might find
with a Rubbermaid stock tank), and EPDM liner? Thanks!

Rubbermaid stock tanks are not PVC. Nothing will glue to them. Your local
plastic supplier can sell you a heat welding kit (thats more than I know
about it) You can use standard PVC glue to glue PVC liner. EPDM liners are
joined by heat as well, KenCo has some black sticky tape you can use on this
and might join it with the rubbermaid tank but I doubt it (hardly anything
will stick to those tanks).

best to use a Bulkhead fitting then connect to the EDPM.

Then how do people usually convert them? I'm considering using one as my
settling tank.

I've worked in the Plastic Injection Molding industry for over 20 years and
although I may be mistaken, the Rubbermaid Stock Tanks sure look like they
are made from Polypropylene to me, not PVC (Poly-Vinyl-Chloride). So you
may want to confirm this first so you can look for the appropriate adhesive.

Good instructions there.

Two things:
1) The JFIF=jpeg (.jpg) file format would have that attachment
down to about 10K with no loss in visible quality. At about 6K
the compression artifacts that are characteristic of jpegs start
to show up. (Yes, I tested.) (gray scale jpeg)

(Betcha didn't even notice it was a gif)

2)This isn't a binaries group, and attachments such as that are
frowned upon.

Hi,
What i have done is simple yet time consuming. I have a skimmer cut in the side
of my RubberMaid tank 4"x8". Around the skimmer I cut the rubber liner and
tucked it inside the tank. I went to Home Depot and purchased stock length of
1"x1/8" aluminum strips which I cut to fit the size of the skimmer. Then I took
a drill and drilled on two inch centers, 1/8" holes to place 1/8" brass bolts
thru to similar cut pieces of aluminum on the inside. Also before i did this I
squirted silicone caulk between liner ahd tank to insure a quality seal. I then
placed the bolts thru the holes and tightened them snug all the way around.
PERFECT SEAL! So far have had no problems.
Good luck,
Rick Parker

Hello ponders, I hope someone can help me. I have had a number
of deaths in the last few months. I had a autopsy done last week
followed by tissue samples being tested. The results show the disease
Myco Bacteriosis. I have been told one of my fish is a carrier and that
their is no cure. I have been able to ascertain that the carrier is one
of two fish and will take steps to find out which one.

My big problem is that now this bacterial infection has been in
contact with all my fish. I do quarantine. It is not the type of thing that
shows up quickly. I am losing fish slowly, but unless I can find something
to knock this bacteria off I will undoubtably lose most if not all my fish.

This bacterial infection came in with fancy goldfish. I keep them mostly
indoors but some went out into the pond so that may well be infected.
I am devastated. This is not the first autopsy I have had performed by
the vet but it was only with my last loss that I insisted on tissue samples
being taken and tested further.

I believed that I would finally find out what was the matter and be able
to treat for it. I have been told this is not the case - NO CURE.
I refuse to accept this so please if anyone knows anything about this
Myco Bacterial Infection please e-mail me on daw...@bigpond.com
If you could send to rec. ponds and myself that would be a great help
to me.

Thank you Dawn daw...@bigpond.com
