Lots of vacation shots, buildings, artistic stuff... but almost no people.
Why are you asking the r.p.t.people group for comments? I suggest
rec.photo.technique or r.p.t.nature.

Web design is weak, and I'm not sure the opening self-portrait is truly the
most creative one you could have come up with. However, I do think there
are some great images on your site and I think you have some real talent
there.

Why here? Two reasons. Although I don't post a lot of late, I've been
a participant here for a while, and I thought other regulars might like
to see how I'm doing. I learned a lot from some of the folks here in
r.p.t.p. The other reason, well, there are portraits (and more coming
soon), this is a portraiture group. I did post in other appropriate
newsgroups as well, including r.p.t.nature.

I'm not a web designer, and absolutely not a graphic designer! My
design goals for the site were that it be simple, non-dramatic and
dark. I wanted all the text to draw the eye less than the photographs.
I'm not sure what you mean though by opening self-portrait. I *wish* I
was as pretty as Sarah, the model you see:) I am going to be adding
some more portraits, more... different I guess you'd say. The more
conventional ones went up first. I'm not sure how far I'll go though.
Some people find some of the themes I explore uncomfortable.

BTW, every time I see your name, I think of Lenier, from the Babylon 5
TV show:) If you're unfamiliar with the show, don't worry, it's a very
positive association:) And he once gave a little speech about his
mentor that also kind of describes my approach to photographing people.
