Is there a specific market for just inkjet prints? Probably - people
collect just about anything you can name. There are bound to be people who
collect only inkjet prints. Humans are weird.
OTOH, I was at the AIPAD show in NYC last month. Many galleries were
showing inkjet prints, at prices comparable to chemical prints. I talked to
a number of dealers and buyers. There seems to be a consensus that the
image is what is important, not the underlying tech.
The term "giclee" seems to be an attempt at a tradename. The point was to
get people to think that you could only get good quality prints from a
"giclee" (that is, Iris) printer. This failed for several reasons. First,
people started to use the term giclee to mean the output from *any* inkjet
printer. Second, Iris is no longer the quality leader in the inkjet printer
market. Third, knowledgeable collectors know that giclee is just an attempt
at a trade name - some are rather insulted by it.
In short, the phrase "to have giclee" is meaningless.

Thanks very much. That's what I was hoping to hear. Now, all I need are some
important images...

I think there is a good market for the photographer who wishes to sell
there work ... .. with value added ... here are some ways we help our
clients add value to their photos:
1. Photo prints on media other than photo paper..ie. art paper,
canvas, fabric...even wallpaper...
2. Posters ... where the photo is the focal point ... but often have
either a message ... or a commercial logo ... I have some good
examples of this that I would be glad to email you.
3. Even limited edition signed and numbered posters mounted on foam
core and shrink wrapped... or series of posters.
4. Larger than usual format or size .. dependent of course on the what
we have to work from ... slide .. transparency
5. Giclée printers make color ... therefore we can alter color ..
either on the overall print .. or on specific parts of the print .. to
give you a desired effect ... or mood ..
So .. if the question is .. is there a market for typical desktop
printer inkjet prints on bond paper?? I would be skeptical ...
But there a lot of other ways we can help you prepare and package your
photographic work for sale to a market we know is out there ...
