My friend sheepishly showed me the Canon camera she bought at a garage sale
recently.

I'm new to photography and puzzled as to what this critter is and how and
if she can get decent snapshots from it.

It seems like a pretty cheaply made camera with it's plastic body and "focus
free" lens. However, it does have four aperture settings and it says motor
drive on it next to a curved lever alongside the lens. (I thought the term
"motor drive" meant a camera either had an autofocus lens or the ability to
rapidly shoot a series of pictures. either meaning sounds out of sync with my
image of this as a junk camera.) It also has a good-sized flash unit attached
to it.

She'd really get a kick out of taking snapshots with her garage sale "find".
Could anyone give me info on how to use this camera or where I might find out
about it. Canon's WEB site didn't list a TC-8000.
Thanks for any help, JOE

In all likelyhood it isn't a Canon camera. It's bordserline to even call it a
camera. It's a ripoff. Focus free optical glass lenses with four apperture
probably colored and marked with sun, cloudy sun etc... I've seen one that
had a copied Canon logo affixed. It definately ain't a Canon. Sold at
fleamarkets and less than tottally honest establishments for ( one guy paid
$300 us.) way too much the flash is worth more than the camera and that
doesn't say much.
