Recently however Iąve noticed that the light-meter keeps jumping around.
Iąll have the camera on auto and be photographing something at 1/60 sec or
1/125 sec then itąll suddenly jump up to 1/500 sec. The same happened in
reverse when I was doing some close-up work using extension tubes. The
light meter was giving me a reading of 1/125 sec or 1/250 sec (which I
thought was too high at the time) then after half a film it dropped down to
around 1/8 or 1/15 (which proved later to be the correct exposure time).
The battery has been changed fairly recently so I donąt think itąs a power
problem.
Do light-meters wear out? I lost my Pentax manual years ago so I couldnąt
tell you what sort of meter it is? Could this problem be solved with a
repair-job, or is a question of getting a new camera.
Many thanks
Steve

Indicates that a cleaning and a calibration is in order for that camera now. This is a $98 job.
see Import Camera Service for more info.
Thanks Jack
