On a Pentax Zoom 105 Super, I have recently received the following
error numbers : E97, E9F and E1A.

The sequence of events was:

Got error E97.
Took batteries out and replaced (same) batteries.
Got error E9F.
Now camera is permanently stuck on E1A.

Does anyone have a list of what these error numbers mean? Or, if you
know/live with/are married to someone who writes embedded software for
Pentax, ask them.

Thanks,

Neil Crofts.

E1A means that your camera is either low on battery or the battery is
dead that it won't make the camera work at all. Or if the camera
is stuck in a permanent error loop cycle that it will make
it non-operable, hence E1A. You must fix the previous problems before
you can rid of the E1A code.

E97 or E9F means you have a Zoom problem.. Most likely, the flexible
circuit on the Zoom 105, namely I225 (product code #26700)
(Zoom code flexible circuit) has been severed due to impact or
any other means. Since I225 is situated very close to the shutter
flexible circuit called E155, you might have to replace both of them..

The job is quite tricky and would require a factory trained technician
to perform the job..

Only Pentax has the complete list and they are very unwilling to give
it out to you unless you know someone on the inside.. But the codes
means nothing to you if you don't know the purpose of it..
Some codes in the Zoom 105 firmware are very complex to understand..
