I have an XA2 camera but no manual for it. When I select
BATTERY TEST a red light comes on and the camera beeps
continuously. Can anyone tell me whether this means the
battery is OK or needs changing? (The camera does seem to work
with the batteries that it has fitted, in that I can hear
the shutter operate. Haven't yet put a film through it
though.)

given that the 'no battery' state would mean there's
no power to make the light come on or to make
the beep work, it's safe to assume that it means
that the batteries are OK (also, i have one of these
and i'm sure that's the meaning.)

interestingly, have you heard the true story about
the electronics designer who was asked by marketing
to put a 'battery dead' light on the product they
were designing? seems like a great idea until you
think about it a bit!!

have fun,
