I got so much practical help from this book! I work for a non-profit and came away with dozens of practical applications, so I think this could be used for almost any industry. It could have gotten six stars, if that were possible, but some of the reading appears to assume that you've read the companion book. Also, some of the concepts seem to assume a certain level of understanding that I didn't have. I think part of the problem is that the book isn't completely linear and there were times when I wasn't sure what part of the process they were talking about. Despite some drawbacks, I highly recommend this book for those who are interested in a practical tool for designing products.

Statistical packages that constrain their users to choosing from a fixed set of analyses restrict the types of investigation that scientists may undertake, or lead to approximate or inappropriate analyses. We describe methods and criteria for designing a flexible package that avoids such deficiencies, with illustrations from our involvement with Genstat, in particular from the design of the new version called Genstat 5. Use of comprehensive algorithms and the ability to include user-supplied source code are important, but the crucial feature is that the commands of the package should themselves constitute a programming language for defining statistical, and other, computations.

Requirements for the safe transport of radioactive material are established in IAEA Safety Standards Series No. SSR-6 (Rev. 1), Regulations for the Safe Transport of Radioactive Material, 2018 Edition. Packages intended for the transport of radioactive material have to be designed to meet applicable national and international regulations. For package designs that require approval by a competent authority, the documentary evidence of compliance with the applicable regulations is commonly known as package design safety report (PDSR). For package designs that do not require competent authority approval, a PDSR would also be an appropriate form of documentary evidence of compliance with the Transport Regulations. This Safety Guide provides recommendations on the preparation of a PDSR to demonstrate compliance of a package design for the transport of radioactive material with the Transport Regulations. This Safety Guide is intended for use by applicants for approval of package designs (when package designs are subject to competent authority approval) as well as by package designers and/or consignors (when package designs do not require competent authority approval). Regulators will benefit from the common structure for the competent authority assessment process, and designers and consignors will find a consistent approach to justify the compliance of a package design with the regulatory requirements.
At this time, it is not possible to download entire editions or complete titles of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) on govinfo as a single PDF file unless the whole title is comprised of a single book/volume. There are often several volumes (or printed books) across one title. For example, Title 49 is printed in 9 volumes. You cannot obtain the entire title in one electronic file because that is not the way the document is processed. The electronic volumes correspond with the print volumes.
