Replacement for Mallory RM640 mercury battery?

Hi
I just pirchased an old Minolta hi matic F rangefinder camera and just found
out it needs the old mercury RM 640 battery. Are there any replacements
batteries I can use?. Thanks for any help , Russ

Fortunately the meter system of the Hi-Matic F runs on other voltages
than those delivered by mercury cells, too. Get two pcs of alkaline
625 cells and fill up space with coins, metal bolts or springs. Worked
on mine, works on a friend's. But you should check the battery more
often or change them regularly.

I hope that your Hi-Matic F works with fresh batteries since most of
these I have seen suffer from rotten battery wires. Usually this poses
no big problem to a semi-experienced tinkerer but unfortunately the
original wires are very short on the Hi-Matic F and not easy to
resolder.
