I would appreciate recommendations for a reliable and competent
place to have a Copal #1 shutter cleaned. Preferably in CALIFORNIA..

Try Photography on Bald Mountain (408) 423-4465 (Wed & Thurs 9-5, Fri
9-noon). They know their stuff.

I have a Rapax shutter I was told by three repair centers could NOT be
repaired. I took it to George Graf in Glendale (213) 665-5254. He
repaired it in a few days for only $85 and I found him to be quite a
crafstman. He has been repairing cameras for almost 50 years. Feel free
to tell him I recommended him.
