I haven't seen this posted anywhere yet, but nature photographer Nadine
Blacklock was killed Sunday in a car accident. She and her husband Craig
Blacklock, who worked mostly in 4x5 chromes, published over a dozen
books and taught a lot of workshops. Most of their work revolved around
the Boundary Waters and Lake Superior areas of northern Minnesota.

I don't know how well known she is outside of the upper midwest, but I
thought a few of you might be interested.

Hi Chuck,

Thanks for notifying us of this tragic event. I never had the chance to
meet Nadine Blacklock, but have enjoyed the work of the Blacklock's for
many years. It truly saddens me to learn of the loss of a fellow nature
photographer.
Sincerest condolences to her family and friends.

Kerry

I'm sorry to hear of this. It's always said when someone goes like that
way before their time. I think anyone who regularly reads magazines
like Outdoor Photography would be familiar with the Blacklocks.

As a photographer and a human being, I hope that they were either coming
from or on their way to the trip of a lifetime. I have seen one of their
books and the photography was inspired.

I am sadden to read about this tragic loss to their family as well as to the
world of photographers and to readers and viewers of their work. I am not to
familiar with them but
i know that i have seen their work in the mags.
It really disturbes me as i see more and more
people killed in car accidents. These accidents kill and disable more people
every
year. And the fact that such well known people tragically get hurt or killed
never to be on this earth again to do what they do best
is a testiment to the tragic loss of lives every month. MY DEEPEST
SYMPATHY TO THE FAMILY. Jake East.
