the 3x4 Speed Graphic, all I can say is Yikes! This is
really a misrepresentation. The size is completely orphaned.
For a couple of decades at least Graflex, and its
predecessor company, tried to get press photographers to
switch to this size from 4x5. It never caught on even though
the cameras were significantly smaller and lighter.
It is a bit shocking to me that things I remember
lusting after when they were new are now "antiques".
Your antique friend (practically a dinosaur)...

One company seems to offer computer networking components at 3 to 5
times the going price, and it very, very rarely gets bids. Yet they
keep listing it.
Why? Are they hoping for a windfall, like a customer that just HAS to
have that particular item (and assume they'll make up for all the other
listing fees)? Or are they trying to "establish a price" for some
reason? I don't get it.

new, but worth pretty much nothing today. Starting bid of $50. I was
expecting maybe to get $100 for it. For kicks, I put a Buy-It-Now price of
$475. Sure enough, someone bought it for $475 and then paid $250 to have
it FedExed overnight!! Turns out they had an identical system that
failed. Dell no longer offered parts and they really wanted to bring the
old system back-to-life in order to continue operating until they could
upgrade.

That's why the good sellers there are so refreshing. My favorite is
"dagor77", the name stemming from his practice of starting all auctions
at 77 cents. His descriptions of his wares are delightful (and he has
really good stuff to sell).
Strangely enough, eBay shows him currently with no items for sale:

For those who care, J and C Photo also sells Efke/Adox/JandC Classic sheet
film in 2-1/4"x3-1/4", too. I use that with my Crown Graphic and Galvin. And
I bought 5 boxes of HP5+ in that size just before Ilford stopped producing
it. So I've enough sheet and roll film to last a while.
As an aside, there is enough size difference between the English unit
cut sheet film (2-1/4x3-1/4") and the 6x9cm images on a roll of 120 film
that two different size negative holders are required. The roll film is
about 5mm wider than the sheet film, and the latter falls through the
carrier for the former size.

It's a piece of 'found art' now: the seller is an art & antiques
gallery.
As art it is worth far more than it ever was as "just" a camera.
As a working camera it's a disaster. I'm sure someone loved it --
one can find someone to love anything; The gallery is
sure hoping so.

One needs to discriminate found art, found object art,
art to be found, outsider art and bad art.

2) J&C: I haven't verified in the last month, but J&C closed due to
"circumstances beyond their control" and relocating to Las Vegas or
elsewhere in Nevada. They estimated they will be open in September.
Meanwhile, I found that Digital Truth is now selling some of the same
sheet film products J&C were (minus the J&C labeled products).

If they won't, I can recommend someone who will, but it's not that
hard to find a near-antique display lens. It's on my "to do" list,
just behind doing some silver polishing.

The objective was to mount a new objective in the mount for an
old brass objective to overcome the objections of the
Current Significant Other by claiming the resulting object
to be an objet d'art for the decoration of the house.
Until the CSO knocks out the Apo glass and converts the barrel
to a flower vase.

So rather than lose the advantage of a modern shutter, have one
lens for display and one (or more) for shooting. It's a _lot_
easier to hide a lens than a 4x5 (or 8x10") camera.
