Any body know of a system with lots of pockets to secure photo gear and
another main compartment for supplies. Even a convertable set up would
be great.
Thanks,

Hi Michael,
Have you looked at the Tenba PBH-K? It is designed to attach to a Kelty
pack frame. I wouldn't dream of carrying it without the support and
padding of the Kelty frame. With the frame in place, there is plenty of
room to strap on tent, sleeping bag, thermarest, etc. They also sell a
big set of optional side pockets that will give plenty of room for food
and extra clothing, etc. Not light, but with the Kelty frame and side
pockets, you should be able to carry your 8x10 and everything else you
need for backpack trips in the 3 - 5 day range.

Sorry for a late reply. I have several friends who shoot with 8x10 and
both have a backpack made by f64. They are both very impressed with it.
However, I have had difficulties tracking down their address/phone
numbers for you. The company rarely advertises. I keep checking and see
what I can find. Maybe someones else knows.

The F-Stops Here carries the f64 line of photo backpacks. I have no first
hand experience, but have heard nice things about them. Give Chuck at the
F-Stops Here a call (805-898-880) and he'll send you a brochure on the f64
packs.

Another two cents;last night, I just happened to check out the f64 that
a freind uses for his Wisner 8x10. It looks very nice. Very thoughfully
designed. I'm not sure how many Film Holders it will carry, but you
could ask Chuck at the F-Stops here. He is very helpful.
