Greetings All,

I need to get my Exakta VXIIA repaired. Can anyone recommend a good repair
shop? What has happened is the film advance lever is stuck in the
"cranked-over" position and will not return to the "ready-to-shoot"
position. I live in Florida, but I would ship the camera just about
anywhere if I could get good repair work done.

Thanks in advance

Mike

I have a VX that did that once...I was able to free it by doing a bit of
"thumping" it on my metal desk and "flipping" the wind lever. (Not winding
tighter! Just flipping to try to like...bounce...it free.)

Once it freed it hasn't jammed again. Dunno the cause...

Excuse my poor explaination. If you'd like a bit more help or just a
sympathetic ear email me.

Henry

There used to be "Seymour's Exakta" in NYC, NY. Don't know if he is still
there, though.

Seymour's Exakta is now a telephone inside Cambridge Camera Exchange, whose
reputation is, shall we say, not quite as sterling as that of some other New
York discounters. Still, they may be your best option. Also try
www.essexcamera.com, a specialist in older cameras.

Yup, sure is. It's listed as "Seymour's Camera", and it's at 119 W17th, same
as Cambridge.

There are a couple of Exakta collector's clubs with www pages, some of them
may have recommendations...
