I have inherited a couple of old Zykkor lenses: 2x Teleconverter, and an
Ultra Wide Angle Macro Lens. The teleconverter says it's a Canon mount but
I can't seem to mount any of my lenses on it (both newer FD and the old chrome
ring style). The Ultra Wide Angle Macro Lens seems to be a screw-in mount
but I can't find any way to mount this either. Of course, there are no
instruction manuals with either of them. These lenses were allegedly purchased
along with a Canon AL-1. My hunch is that someone was a victim of the old
NYC camera store scam.

Does anyone know where I can get information on these lenses? I'm thinking
they are headed for the garbage can, but if I can get either to work at all,
I might keep them. Thanks.

You're right about the camera store scam, no doubt. I bought a couple of
these at a yard sale for use as props in a school play. After that, I
removed the internal junk and now use them as pencil holders.

zykkors were made by Pacemark Corp, a Japanese third party lens maker;
they were priced as low end third party lenses, rarely reviewed by mags:

zykkor 28 2.8 84 $60 $95 auto wide
zykkor 28 2.8 84 $68 $108 auto wide macro
zykkor 50 1.7 84 $76 $121 auto normal
zykkor 135 2.8 84 $60 $95 auto tele
zykkor 135 2.8 84 $68 $108 auto tele macro
zykkor 28-80 3.5 84 $160 $254 auto zoom macro
zykkor 35-135 3.5 84 $176 $280 auto zoom macro
zykkor 80-200 3.9 84 $130 $207 auto zoom macro
zykkor 80-200 4.5 84 $120 $191 auto zoom macro compact
zykkor 80-205 4.5 84 $115 $183 auto zoom macro

the first $ column is the price of the lens in 1984, the second is the
equiv. inflation adjusted price as of 1998 (table date) in constant $$;

Additional note:
The parts quality and workmanship were atrocious - rounded Phillips screw
heads, crossed threads, missing screws, taped parts with tape dried and
loosened, etc. All this, and I only disassembled two of them! I took them
apart to correct rattles, and never bothered to reassemble them.
