I don't know which 1.35V battery the OM-1 uses or whether its meter is
sensitive to a difference in voltage. Some cameras are; some aren't. My
old Pentax Spotmatics are not; however, the meter needle movement is
faster with the higher voltage batteries.

Rather than worry about the sensitivity of your meter and how to
compensate you could try a 1.4 V zinc/air battery. I use the #675 zinc
battery with a #83 rubber "O" ring around it as a replacement for the
PX625 mercury battery. The only downside is that the zinc batteries only
last a few months. Then again, you can buy them at 4 for about $4 -
$5.00.

Hope that helps.

Don't use the PX-625A battery in the OM-1. It can damage the meter.

CRIS Camera, <http://www.criscam.com/>, sells the MR-9 adapter which
allows you to use an S76 silver oxide cell. Coupled together, they make
exactly the correct voltage. The other option is a Wein zinc-air
replacement cell.

Don't do it. You risk burning out the meter. Check out www.criscam.com
They have an adapter I use that takes an SR44 and puts out the right
voltage.

Usual no affliliation yada yada

The 1.55V alkaline 625A or 625U will cause a 3 stop error in an unmodified
OM-1. Either divide your asa by 4 and set that number (to overexpose,
because the extra voltage causes the needle to go too high in the finder,
causing underexpsoure).
Next best thing is to use a battery closer to the correct voltage like the
weincell.

While John always has great advice (and fixes all my OM stuff), I'd also
like to suggest you try www.criscam.com They have an adapter for an sr44
battery that corrects it to the right voltage. I have one and it works
great. About $30.

I don't have any affiliation, just like what they sell.

What´s the best alternative: To modify the camera, use Wein
air-zync batteries, or use these batteries adaptors?

I have the adapter from www.criscam.com It works perfectly and let's the
OM-1 use the same SR44 batteries that all my other OM cameras use, which is
convenient.

No affiliations, etc etc

I also sell the MR9 adapter, and have them in stock if needed.

Please bear with me, at this point I'm just trying to get these new pages
working. Thank you for your patience.

The MR9 Adapter can be found at:

http://www.zuiko.com/Macroflashaccess.htm

I hope this one works. Thanks again
