Minox GTX is a Minox GTE plus DX-coding, both have very sharp
35mm/2.8 multicoated Minoxar lens.
GTE has an advantage over GTX: you can override the DX by setting
the ASA number manually to different numbers higher or lower than the
film rated.
GTE/GTX uses two CR 1/3 N lithium batteries.
GTE pictures is very sharp as good as my Contax T2

Is the Minox PL the only Minox to have AE lock? How would you rate the choices:
Minox PL
Rollei 35T
Rollei 35S
Contax T (original)
Further, is there any good reason to get the SE versions of the Rollei 35T or 35T?
Thanks,
Danny G

I have a GT that I bought in 1987. I have shot about 100 rolls of film
through it and have gotten fantastic results. The lens is very sharp.
The estimating footage is not a problem, except for low light
conditions when a small aperature is needed. Just get a flash. I have
a Sunpack A1600 flash that I bought for it which work better than the
Minox flash unit, for a fraction of the price.
I had the camera cleaned and chacked about 5 years ago after a trip
to Europe, but have never had a problem with it.
Last summer I was on a fishing boat in Hawaii, an during a calm period
took out the Minox for a few shots. A huge wave hit the boat and
soaked both me and the camera. I threw the camera in a bag and took it
out when we got to shore (8 hours later). The camera was sitting in a
puddle of salt water. I rinsed it off carefully with freshwater, and
apart from the two screws that are on the door hinge rusting, the
camera looks and works as good as ever.
I would get another one in a second if anything ever happened to this
one.
