Does anyone know the difference between Nikon's slide copy
attachments PS-4, PS-5 and PS-6?
I am looking for slide copy attachment. I know PS-6 is the
currently available model. B&H also lists used PS-4 and and
PS-5. I am wondering what is the difference? I am looking for
the cheapest setup to make high quality slide duplications. I
have Nikkor AIS 55mm f/2.5 Mirco and PK13. Also N90s+MF26+SB26.
I also heard of another slide copy attachment ES-1? What's that
for?
Appreciate any information.

PS-4 has shifts, PS-5 doesn't, PS-6 only fits PB-6 bellows,
PS-4/5 only fit PB-4 or 5 bellows (I think...;-).

The above will not work without the bellows...

It is a small variable-length tube with a 52mm thread at one end
(for mounting on the end of your lens), and a slide holder and opal
diffuser at the other - this is what you want, with your gear, for
duping slides. An SC-17 remote TTL cord is useful for moving the
flash to the back of the ES-1, but firing the flash at a white
reflecting card a bit beyond the ES-1 can also work.
Hope This Helps
I am not sure whether this wil help you much: PS-6 is the slide copy
attachment that fits the current PB-6 bellows, PS-4 and PS-5 will fit
PB-4 and PB-5 bellows respectively. I am not too sure whether you can
swap these slide copy attachments with the different bellows, maybe that
somebody else can follow up on this subject?
I can't help you regarding the ES-1.

The PS-4 and PS-5 attach to (and require) the PB-4 or PB-5
bellows units. The PB-4/PS-4 offer swings and shifts on the
bellows, and shifts on the slide-copier. The PB-5/PS-5
units delete the shifts/swings, and were intended as a
cheaper alternative to the PB-4/PS-4. The two slide-copier
units will fit either bellows, but are not compatible with
the current PB-6.
The ES-1 fits directly on the 55mm Micro-Nikkor, and
is probably what you are looking for, since you won't have
to buy a bellows that way. I don't think it is still in
production.
