You can't use TTL with this set up. Only auto and manual. You won't hurt
the camera when useing a PC cord. You "possibly" could when mounting
directly on the camera. As far as mounting, just go to the camera shop and
pick up a bracket. Strobo-Frame is my choice, but there are other brands
out there. If you have a PC setup working now, there is no need to buy any
kind of "hotshoe" adapter. Not sure why you think you would need anything
like that when you've got it working now. Just buy a bracket that has an
ISO shoe mount.

The common pins to both are:
A) Centerpole or large center pin.
B) Sides of the shoe which are the grounds.
So if it was me and I have done this to link certain models of digitals to
studio units I would find a SC-17 Nikon cable, go to my website and you see
conversions of these with cables to various studio units from the five
strand Nikon SC-17. Basically it's like a vasectomy. You open one part that
goes on the Canon side and cut the wires that aren't needed.

Another way is to locate a GENERIC (basically the same thing with just a
cheap generic hotshoe to hotshoe) with just the center pin and side ground.
but it is their quality and poor worksmanship I dont trust.
I make these custom cables all the time. But you have to be careful.
The camera brackets are another section on my website.
Let me know if you need help...
