I wish to send 50+ photographs to another individual here in the UK.

What would be your preferred method of doing so?

Thanks.

you’re an idiot.

there are multiple ways.

1 FTP. Set up a FTP site. You could use the original, nor secure, protiocol
or either of two secure protocols

2 HTTP. Set up a HTTP site. You could use the original, not secure, protocol
or the secure protocol.

3 iCloud. Set up iCloud at both ends. Use one of three possible transfer
methods. Google is your friend.

4 DropBox/GoogleDrive/OneDrive/other 3rd party cloud. All worthwhile 3rd
party clouds have ways to send and/or receive files. Google is your friend.

Pick one. Those not idiots would have been able to start sending files in a
shorter time than you took to type your post. (Hint: sending files with
iCloud, DropBox, GoogleDrive, or OneDrive literally takes seconds, including
prep time. And if you can’t figure out what preparations you should make
you’re even stupider than I thought you were.)

Dropbox, Google Drive, Microsoft One drive.

Copy the photos up, make the folder you copied to readable by anyone, get a
link to the folder and send the link by e-mail.

Thank you, David.

Can /you/ view the images here?

I hope so!

I'd not thought of that, John. But it would, of course, be an efficient
means of transfer.

Thanks.

Yes, perfectly. I can see then as a list, a grid or as individual images.
Using the download icon I can download the images, and tell that they were
created with a FinePix J210 - showing that the full image information is there.
There is no GPS information.

Great news! :-)

I much appreciate your help. Thank you, David.

It's strange to recall that at the time I took the photos, I didn't even
HAVE an iPhone. Now, I couldn't be without one!

Well you are pretty stupid yourself, not putting Number 4 at Number 1.

And for somebody who doesn't know the best/easiest way, asking is not
stupid at all.

Spend 5 minutes on Dropbox (or similar), and save 6 pounds plus the
postage, and they are there in a few seconds.

Normally that would of course be true.

However, when it's the infamous David Brooks who's putting a question
about something that is easily resolved with a trivial Google search
(yet chooses not to attempt one), one knows that it's not going to be
about simply getting advice.

wetransfer - not sure of limitations but you don't have to set anything up
and there are no accounts required

it's the easiest method i think by far

I'd have used wetransfer. Which I do when sending video files, you can send up to 2GB at a time for free.

My problem is now I have a camera with 4k video the files are ~1GB per minute .

So can't even send 1 song/track easily.

That is where iCloud become very useful as there is no limit on file size when it comes to video. I have found that sharing 4K drone videos with file sizes in some cases up to 16GB is only reasonably possible with iCloud Drive sharing, or Adobe Creative Cloud. Most of the other methods including Dropbox have file size limits.

For video files smaller than 3GB SmugMug has been simple and efficient. SmugMug is very useful for sharing an entire gallery, or folder of photos.

Thank you for drawing that product to my attention, Dave.

I've now read about it here:- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WeTransfer

Did you read at this link which I posted before?

I'm sure there would be more 'press' if anything untoward had been
experienced by other folk.

Cheers will have to try iCloud.

Seems simple enough, but the friend in australia was having issues on a hot day, the fans were making a lot of noise
in her PC, so to make them quieter she wrapped the PC in a bath towel and that kept the noise down
and then something went wrong with the PC and it stopped working :-0 !!!!!

I used it when it was called iDisk and to store my first website back in ~1996.

Well she was trying to skype someone at the time, and wondered why sound and video kept cutting out.

>Wrapped it in a bath towel! WTF was she thinking? or should I ask whether she was capable of thinking.
Well she's French and female, I've found they are led by emotions alone, logic plays no part in any decisions they make.
They are either estatically happy or deeply depressed, I lived with her for 5 years (as flat mate) :-<>
